VirtuCorp is confirmed as a partner and sponsor of the Winter Youth Olympic Games at Dolomiti Valtellina.

A term worth €44 million, of which €29 million is delivered in kind: venue coordination, transport sequencing, accreditation and clinical scheduling across five venue clusters in Lombardia and Trentino. The organising committee holds the mandate, the timetable and every decision made against it.

What the partnership is

The agreement was signed with the organising committee in March 2027 and its final scope was confirmed in December, once the venue plan settled. It runs to the publication of the committee's after-action report, which is where a Games contract of ours ends.

Of the €44 million, €29 million is our own work at cost: the operations surface, the integration into the committee's existing systems, and the people who stay in the room. The balance is cash, and the committee has directed all of it to the volunteer programme and to the schools programme in the host valleys. Our mark appears on the door of the operations room and on the flank of our own vehicles.

What we are actually doing

Accreditation covers about one thousand eight hundred athletes from more than eighty national committees, plus team officials, one thousand five hundred volunteers, media and contractors. It has been running since November. An accreditation is issued by the committee, revoked by the committee, and destroyed on the committee's schedule; the destruction is evidenced back to it in writing. Residency and retention follow Italian law, and the after-action report is the committee's to publish.

Transport sequencing runs across five clusters, and the geography sets the problem: Bormio, Livigno and Valdidentro sit behind mountain passes, Val di Fiemme is four hours from them by road, and a pass closure re-sequences a day. The system holds the committee's priority rules and re-sequences against the ones the committee wrote down in advance.

Clinical scheduling is run with the regional health authority: venue medical posts, transfer to the hospitals at Sondrio and Sondalo, and the anti-doping chain of custody as the testing authority specifies it. Venue coordination is the least visible part and the largest: snow-condition holds, competition-schedule changes, and the knock-on to buses, volunteers and broadcast windows.

How it was rehearsed

Every civic deployment of ours is rehearsed at full scale before it is relied on. This one was rehearsed twice, in November and in December, with the committee's own staff at the desks and faults injected by the committee.

In the first rehearsal the primary transport feed was cut for fifty minutes. In the second a venue was declared closed at four hours' notice, on a competition day with two sessions and a ceremony in it. The second rehearsal set the work for December: re-sequencing the day ran twenty-two minutes outside the committee's tolerance, the finding is in the committee's readiness record, and the re-sequencing path was rebuilt and retested against the same injected fault four times.

Why a Youth Games

A Youth Games is smaller than the work that follows it and harder than its size suggests: the same number of moving parts, spread across mountain roads, with a short window to recover in. It is the last full-scale rehearsal our civic line gets before Los Angeles, and worth the term on that basis alone.

Milan-Cortina in 2026 taught us the two lessons that shaped this deployment. The first is that a mountain deployment is won on the roads. The second is that a committee uses a re-sequencing tool at three in the morning when it has rehearsed on it, which is where most of the in-kind hours have gone.
